Semi-persistent scheduled resource release in a mobile communication network

A user equipment for in use in a mobile communication system comprising:

• a receiver configured to receive control channel signaling including a new data indicator and a modulation and coding scheme field, and
• processing circuitry configured to:
• determine that the new data indicator and the modulation and coding scheme field of the control channel signaling indicates a predetermined combination of a new data indicator value and a modulation and coding scheme index, and
• deactivate a semi-persistent resource allocation in response to determination that the new data indicator and the modulation and coding scheme field of the control channel signaling indicates a predetermined combination of a new data indicator value and a modulation and coding scheme index.

A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium for use with a user equipment in a mobile communication system, the non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium storing instructions, that when executed by a processor, cause the processor to control the user equipment to perform operations comprising:

• receiving control channel signaling including a new data indicator and a modulation and coding scheme field;
• determining that the new data indicator and the modulation and coding scheme field of the control channel signaling indicates a predetermined combination of a new data indicator value and a modulation and coding scheme index;
• and
• deactivating a semi-persistent resource allocation in response to the determining that the new data indicator and the modulation and coding scheme field of the control channel signaling indicates a predetermined combination of a new data indicator value and a modulation and coding scheme index.
