Abstract
Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for neural network processing, such as in video processing. In some examples, an apparatus for neural network processing includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry determines that an input for a convolution operation includes a first input channel that is piecewise constant. Then, the processing circuitry calculates a first intermediate output channel based on other channels of the input for the convolution operation; and then generates an output of the convolution operation based on a combination (e.g., a linear combination) of the first intermediate output channel and the first input channel.
Claims20
A method of neural network processing, comprising:
- separating, by a processing circuitry, a first input channel that is piecewise constant from other input channels of an input for a convolution operation;
- calculating, by the processing circuitry, a first intermediate output channel based on the other input channels of the input for the convolution operation;
- and
- generating, by the processing circuitry, an output of the convolution operation based on a combination of the first intermediate output channel and the first input channel.
An apparatus for neural network processing, comprising processing circuitry configured to:
- separate a first input channel that is piecewise constant from other input channels of an input for a convolution operation;
- calculate a first intermediate output channel based on the other input channels of the input for the convolution operation;
- and
- generate an output of the convolution operation based on a combination of the first intermediate output channel and the first input channel.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which when executed by a computer cause the computer to perform:
- separating, by a processing circuitry, a first input channel that is piecewise constant from other input channels of an input for a convolution operation;
- calculating, by the processing circuitry, a first intermediate output channel based on the other input channels of the input for the convolution operation;
- and
- generating, by the processing circuitry, an output of the convolution operation based on a combination of the first intermediate output channel and the first input channel.
