Flat winding / equal coupling common mode inductor apparatus and method of use thereof

An apparatus, comprising:

• a first inductor, comprising:
• an inductor core;
• and
• an inductor winding wound circumferentially around said inductor core, said inductor winding comprising:
• a first winding wire, comprising:
• a first side, said first side of said first winding wire comprising a width extending away from said inductor core;
• an inductor contact side comprising a height;
• a width-to-height ratio, of said width-to-said height, of at least three;
• at least a first turn and a second turn, each of said first turn and said second turn wrapped circumferentially about said inductor core;
• and
• an airflow gap between said first turn and said second turn;
• and
• a second winding wire, said second winding wire wrapped circumferentially about said first winding wire, said first winding wire and said second winding wire electrically connected in parallel;
• a second inductor;
• a third inductor, wherein a first distance between said first inductor and said second inductor is within ten percent of both:
• (1) a second distance between said second inductor and said third inductor and (2) a third distance between said first inductor and said third inductor;
• a top plate connecting said first inductor, said second inductor, and said third inductor;
• and
• a bottom plate connecting said first inductor, said second inductor, and said third inductor,
• wherein said first inductor, said second inductor, and said third inductor comprise elements of an equal coupling common mode filter system.
