Abstract
An Internet of Things (IoT) technique for vehicular traffic management, including an IoT sensor to measure traffic data of vehicular traffic, a traffic analyzer to determine a traffic event based on the traffic data, and an IoT gateway to issue a response based on the traffic event.
Claims20
An Internet of Things (IoT) device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- memory storing code that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:
- decode traffic data of mobile devices based on information from IoT sensors in a mesh network containing a plurality of IoT devices in a plurality of operational cells;
- determine from the traffic data, whether an event has occurred in one operational cell of the plurality of operational cells;
- and
- in response to a determination that the event has occurred, generate, based on the traffic data, a global control signal to regulate a control device in another operational cell of the plurality of operational cells different from the one operational cell, the control device configured to provide local control signals to control movement of the mobile devices in the other operational cell, the global control signal configured to override local control by the control device based on traffic data in the other operational cell to implement control based on the global control signal.

- determine, from the traffic data, whether an event has occurred in one operational cell of the plurality of operational cells;
- classify the event into a time classification selected from a plurality of different time classifications;
- and
- in response to a determination that the event has occurred, generate a global control signal based on the traffic data and the time classification, the global control signal configured to regulate a control device in another operational cell of the plurality of operational cells different from the one operational cell.

An internet of things (IoT) device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- memory storing code that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to operate as a control device to:
- decode, in an operational cell, traffic data of mobile:
- devices based on information from IoT sensors in a mesh network containing a plurality of IoT devices in the operational cell;
- determine, from the traffic data, whether a traffic event as occurred in the operational cell;
- adjust, based on the traffic event, local control signals to traffic control devices in the operational cell, the traffic control devices regulating movement of the mobile devices in the operational cell;
- determine whether failure of the control device has occurred, and in response to a determination that failure has occurred, reorganize control of the traffic control devices and transmission of the local control signals to another IoT device;
- and
- determine whether a global control signal has been received from a primary controller of the mesh network, the primary controller disposed in another operational cell, and in response to a determination that the global control signal has been received, determine whether the global control signal is to override local control in the operational cell.
