Point cloud playback mechanism

An apparatus comprising:

• one or more processors to:
• load information for streams corresponding to each of a plurality of viewpoints;
• render a stream associated with a first of the plurality of viewpoints;
• load viewpoint content associated with each of the neighboring viewpoints of the first viewpoint into memory;
• and
• generate transitional viewpoint content for viewpoints immediately neighboring the first viewpoint, wherein generating transitional viewpoints comprises performing a blending of data chunks of the first viewpoint and an adjacent viewpoint.

A method comprising:

• loading information for streams corresponding to each of a plurality of viewpoints;
• rendering a stream associated with a first of the plurality of viewpoints;
• loading viewpoint content associated with each of the neighboring viewpoints of the first viewpoint into memory;
• and
• generating transitional viewpoint content for viewpoints immediately neighboring the first viewpoint, wherein generating transitional viewpoints comprises performing a blending of data chunks of the first viewpoint and an adjacent viewpoint.

At least one non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon, which when executed by one or more processors, cause the processors to:

• load information for streams corresponding to each of a plurality of viewpoints;
• render a stream associated with a first of the plurality of viewpoints;
• load viewpoint content associated with each of the neighboring viewpoints of the first viewpoint into memory;
• and
• generate transitional viewpoint content for viewpoints immediately neighboring the first viewpoint, wherein generating transitional viewpoints comprises performing a blending of data chunks of the first viewpoint and an adjacent viewpoint.
