Processing electronic payment transactions in offline-mode

A method comprising:

• establishing, by a first device, a short-range communication channel between the first device and a second device;
• receiving, by the first device and via the short-range communication channel, an identifier in association with a transaction between a first user associated with the first device and a second user associated with the second device, wherein the identifier is associated with the second user;
• and
• transmitting, by the first device and to a transaction processing system via a long-range communication channel, at least one transaction request to facilitate the transaction between the first user and the second user, wherein the at least one transaction request includes the identifier.

A method comprising:

• establishing, by a primary device or a secondary device, a short-range communication channel between the primary device and the secondary device;
• receiving, by the primary device and from the secondary device via the short-range communication channel, an identifier in association with a transaction between a first user associated with the primary device and a second user associated with the secondary device, wherein the identifier is associated with the second user;
• and
• generating, by the primary device, at least one transaction request associated with the transaction;
• and
• transmitting, by the primary device and to a transaction processing system via a long-range communication channel, the at least one transaction request to facilitate the transaction between the first user and the second user, wherein the at least one transaction request includes the identifier.

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• memory;
• one or more computer-executable instructions stored in the memory and executable by the one or more processors to:
• establish, by a first device or a second device, a short-range communication channel between the first device and the second device;
• receive, by the first device and via the short-range communication channel, an identifier in association with a transaction between a first user associated with the first device and a second user associated with the second device, wherein the identifier is associated with the second user;
• and
• transmit, by the first device and to a transaction processing system via a long-range communication channel, a transaction request specifying the identifier.
