A memory device can include a plurality of memory cells for storing data, a memory interface configured to store and retrieve data at the plurality of memory cells, a logic unit comprising digital circuitry configured to perform mathematic and logic operations, and a control circuitry configured to control operation of the memory device.

A system comprising:
- a memory device, the memory device comprising:
- a plurality of memory cells comprising a plurality of legacy memory cells and a plurality of processor memory cells;
- a memory port configured to read and/or write data to the plurality of memory cells;
- a logic unit comprising digital circuitry configured to perform mathematic and logic operations, wherein the logic unit is configured to perform processing operations with regards to data stored or to be stored in the processor memory cells of the memory device;
- and
- a control logic circuitry configured to control operation of the memory device;
- one or more electronic devices;
- and
- an interconnect coupling the one or more electronic devices and the memory device to each other.
