Abstract
An electrical system comprising conductive and insulating layers for application to a surface of a garment, the electrical system comprising: a first insulating layer for attaching to a garment; a second insulating layer; and an electrically conductive layer encapsulated between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer. The first and second insulating layers have a predetermined minimum voltage withstand and a predetermined minimum resistance.
Claims25
An electrical system comprising conductive and insulating layers for application to a surface of a garment, the electrical system comprising:
- a first insulating layer for attaching to a garment;
- a second insulating layer;
- and
- an electrically conductive layer encapsulated between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer.
A method of testing an electrical system comprising conductive and insulating layers for application to a surface of a garment, the electrical system comprising
- a first insulating layer for attaching to a garment;
- a second insulating layer;
- and
- an electrically conductive layer encapsulated between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer;
- wherein the insulation performance of one or each of the first and second insulating layer is tested by application of a test voltage between a probe that is connected to the electrically conductive layer and a conductive plate having a defined area that is placed on the relevant insulating layer and measuring the resistance or breakdown voltage therebetween.
