Processes and systems of recovery of rare earth elements and/or lithium by marine macroalgae

A process of recovery of rare earth elements (REEs) and/or Lithium from a primary medium, comprising:

• providing an initial aqueous medium of the primary medium, presenting initial concentrations of at least one REEs and/or Lithium and a pH bigger than 6, to a first recovery disposition;
• providing at least a first quantity of living marine macroalgae, optionally further at least a second quantity thereof, to the first recovery disposition so that can actively interact with the initial aqueous medium during a staging period of time;
• after the staging period of time, acquiring an operative aqueous medium presenting current concentrations of at least one REEs and/or Lithium, smaller than the respective initial concentrations;
• separating at least part of the quantity of living marine macroalgae from the operating aqueous medium;
• processing the separated quantity of living marine macroalgae so as to acquire a secondary medium that comprises quantities of REEs and/or Lithium at least similar to the respective quantities previously recovered by the living marine macroalgae from the aqueous medium.
