Abstract
A two-component adhesive composition is provided. The two-component adhesive composition comprises an isocyanate component, an isocyanate-reactive component and an amine-epoxy adduct, and can achieve superior adhesion strength between the adhesive and a substrate like metal alloy substrate. A laminated article prepared with said composition, a method for preparing the article and the use of the amine-epoxy adduct as adhesion promoter in a two-component polyurethane adhesive composition are also provided.
Claims11
A two-component adhesive composition, comprising
- (A) an isocyanate component comprising one or more compounds having at least two isocyanate groups;
- and
- (B) an isocyanate-reactive component comprising one or more compounds having at least two isocyanate-reactive groups,
- wherein the two-component adhesive composition further comprises an amine-epoxy adduct derived from the reaction between:
- (i) at least one primary or secondary amine selected from the group consisting of aliphatic monoamine, aliphatic diamine, aliphatic triamine, cycloaliphatic monoamine, cycloaliphatic diamine, cycloaliphatic triamine, araliphatic monoamine, araliphatic diamine, araliphatic triamine, aromatic monoamine, aromatic diamine, aromatic triamines, and the combinations thereof;
- and
- (ii) at least one epoxy compound selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and aromatic, mono-, di- or polyepoxy compounds.
The use of an amine-epoxy adduct as adhesion promoter in a two-component polyurethane adhesive composition, wherein
- the amine-epoxy adduct is derived from the reaction between:
- (i) at least one primary or secondary amine selected from the group consisting of aliphatic monoamine, aliphatic diamine, aliphatic triamine, cycloaliphatic monoamine, cycloaliphatic diamine, cycloaliphatic triamine, araliphatic monoamine, araliphatic diamine, araliphatic triamine, aromatic monoamine, aromatic diamine, aromatic triamines, and the combinations thereof;
- and (ii) at least one epoxy compound selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and aromatic, mono-, di- or polyepoxy compounds;
- and
- the two-component polyurethane adhesive composition comprises (A) an isocyanate component comprising one or more compounds having at least two isocyanate groups;
- and (B) an isocyanate-reactive component comprising one or more compounds having at least two isocyanate-reactive groups;
- wherein the reaction of (A) isocyanate component with (B) isocyanate-reactive component and the amine-epoxy adduct produces a polyurethane main chain to which residual moiety of the amine-epoxy adduct is covalently attached.
