Abstract
An antiperspirant composition that reduces or eliminates yellowing on clothing.
Claims22
An antiperspirant composition comprising:
- a) a base;
- b) an antiperspirant active;
- and
- c) at least one antioxidant chosen from butylated hydroxytoluene, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, caffeine, and abies picea extract in an amount that is greater than an amount needed for stabilizing the antiperspirant composition, such that the antioxidant is capable of reducing or eliminating yellow discoloration on clothing, when the antiperspirant composition is brought into contact with the clothing.

A method of reducing or eliminating yellowing on clothing comprising:
- a) applying to a person an antiperspirant composition comprising:
- i) a base, and
- ii) at least one antioxidant chosen from butylated hydroxytoluene, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, caffeine, and abies picea extract in an amount that is greater than an amount needed_for stabilizing the personal care composition, such that the antioxidant is capable of reducing or eliminating yellow discoloration on clothing, when the antiperspirant composition is brought into contact with the clothing;
- and
- b) wearing an article of clothing over the area where the antiperspirant composition was applied,
- wherein an amount of antioxidant that is transferred onto clothing from the person during wearing of the clothing is sufficient to reduce or eliminate yellowing on the clothing.
