Abstract
A wireless patient monitoring device can be fully functional stand-alone patient monitoring device capable of various physiological measurements. The patient monitoring device is small and light enough to be comfortably worn on the patient, such as on the patient's wrist or around the neck. The patient monitoring device can have a monitor instrument removably engaging a disposable base. The base can have outlets for connecting to an acoustic respiration sensor and an oximeter sensor. The patient monitoring device can have pogo pin connectors connecting the monitor instrument and the disposable base so that the monitor instrument can receive sensor data from the sensors connected to the disposable base.
Claims17
-18. (canceled)
The patient monitoring device of claim 19, wherein the sensor site is a finger of the patient.
A patient monitoring device configured to be removably secured to a patient and responsive to one or more physiological parameters of the patient, the monitoring device comprising:
- a physiological sensor configured to be removably coupled to the patient at a sensor site;
- a monitor instrument configured to be removably coupled to the patient at a monitor instrument attachment location that is different from the sensor site, wherein the monitor instrument comprises:
- a first side that is proximal to the sensor site;
- and
- a second side that is distal to the sensor site and on an opposite side of the monitor instrument from the first side, wherein the second side comprises an outlet;
- and
- a cable comprising a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being coupled to the outlet and the second portion being coupled to the physiological sensor, wherein the cable is configured to electrically couple the physiological sensor with the monitor instrument via the outlet,
- wherein the first portion of the cable is configured to extend away from the second side in a direction that is away from the sensor site,
- wherein the second portion of the cable is configured to extend away from the first portion in a direction that is toward the sensor site, and
- wherein the monitor instrument is responsive to signals received from the physiological sensor via the cable, said signals responsive to a physiology of the patient.
A patient monitoring device configured to be removably secured to a patient and responsive to one or more physiological parameters of the patient, the monitoring device comprising:
- a physiological sensor configured to be removably coupled to the patient at a sensor site;
- a monitor instrument in wireless communication with a remote monitoring hub, wherein the monitor instrument comprises an outlet;
- a cable configured to electrically couple the physiological sensor with the monitor instrument via the outlet;
- and
- wherein the monitor instrument is configured to:
- removably couple to the patient at a monitor instrument attachment location that is different from the sensor site;
- receive signals from the physiological sensor via the cable, said signals responsive to a physiology of the patient;
- and
- wirelessly transmit the signals to the remote monitoring hub for display
