Adjustable closure system for an article

An adjustable closure system for an article, comprising:

• a primary exterior having a first side panel, and a second side panel opposite the first side panel;
• a first side panel underlay, and a second side panel underlay arranged under the primary exterior first side panel and the primary exterior second side panel opposite the primary exterior first side panel, respectively;
• and
• a closure system including:
• a guide member having first and second cable-receiving passages integrally formed with a flange portion positioned exclusively about the first side panel arranged in a direction away from the second side panel and configured to effect tightening of the article;
• a fastening member having a plurality of tensioning members integrally formed with a flange portion positioned exclusively about the second side panel and configured to effect tightening of the article;
• wherein the tensioning members comprise cable-receiving passages arranged in a direction away from the first side panel and configured to guide a path about the article having the first side panel, and the second side panel opposite the first side panel so as to maintain a level of tightness of the article;
• a cable having a first portion routed along the guide member first cable-receiving passage on the first side panel, the tensioning member first cable-receiving passage of the fastening member on the second side panel opposite the first side panel, and the guide member second cable-receiving passage about a first path along the article via the guide member first and second cable-receiving passages and the tensioning member first cable-receiving passage on the second side panel opposite the first side panel, and a second portion routed along the tensioning member second cable-receiving passage of the fastening member on the second side panel opposite the first side panel about a second path along the article via the tensioning member second cable-receiving passage;
• wherein the cable first portion and the cable second portion are configured to fasten the cable to the fastening member to effect tightening across the entire article;
• wherein the guide members and the tensioning members are positioned between the side panel underlays and the primary exterior side panels such that the guide members and the tension members protrude through the primary exterior side panels and are arranged about the article configured to guide the cable along a path about the article to effect tightening across the entire article.

An adjustable closure system for an article, comprising:

• a primary exterior having a first side panel, and a second side panel opposite the first side panel;
• and
• a plurality of closure systems including;
• a first set of guide members, tension members, a fastening member and a cable configured to effect tightening of the article across the entire closure system in a first zone of the article;
• and
• a second set of guide members, tension members, a fastening member and a cable configured to effect tightening of the article across the entire closure system in a second zone of the article;
• wherein each of the guide members and the tension members of the first and the second sets includes a cable-receiving passage configured to effect tightening of the article in the first zone and the second zone of the article, respectively;
• a guide member having first and second cable-receiving passages integrally formed with a flange portion positioned exclusively about the first side panel arranged in a direction away from the second side panel and configured to effect tightening of the article in the first zone and the second zone of the article;
• a fastening member having a plurality of tensioning members integrally formed with a flange portion positioned exclusively about the second side panel and configured to effect tightening of the article;
• wherein the tensioning members comprise cable-receiving passages arranged in a direction away from the first side panel and configured to guide a path about the article having the first side panel, and the second side panel opposite the first side panel so as to maintain a level of tightness of the article in the first zone and the second zone of the article;
• a cable having a first portion routed along the guide member first cable-receiving passage on the first side panel, the tensioning member first cable-receiving passage of the fastening member on the second side panel opposite the first side panel, and the guide member second cable-receiving passage about a first path along the article via the guide member first and second cable-receiving passages and the tensioning member first cable-receiving passage on the second side panel opposite the first side panel, and a second portion routed along the tensioning member second cable-receiving passage of the fastening member on the second side panel opposite the first side panel about a second path along the article via the tensioning member second cable-receiving passage;
• wherein the cable first portion and the cable second portion are configured to fasten the cable to the fastening member to effect tightening across the entire article in each of the closure systems in the first zone and the second zone of the article respectively;
• wherein the first closure system in the first zone of the article and the second closure system in the second zone of the article are adapted to independently effect tightening across the article;
• wherein the first closure system and the second closure system are each arranged in the first and the second zones, respectively, in a symmetric configuration from the first side panel to the second side panel opposite the first side panel.
