Abstract
A method and apparatus for an indoor horticultural system that utilizes a wired network to control lighting. The wired interface is used to relay both analog and digital intensity control information, whereby an analog signal is used to control the intensity of all LED arrays in each lighting fixture during a first mode of operation and a digital signal is used to control the intensity of each individual LED array in each lighting fixture in a second mode of operation. Both the analog and digital signals utilize the same physical interface.
Claims20
A lighting fixture, comprising:
- a plurality of LED arrays, wherein each LED array is configured to produce light with a variable intensity;
- and
- a wired interface configured to receive a control signal indicative of the variable intensity, wherein the wired interface is coupled to receive an analog control signal during a first mode of operation and the wired interface is coupled to receive a digital control signal during a second mode of operation.
A method of controlling an intensity of light generated by a lighting fixture, comprising:
- receiving an analog control signal via a physical interface during a first mode of operation;
- receiving a digital control signal via the physical interface during a second mode of operation;
- wherein an intensity of all LED arrays of the lighting fixture is controlled with the analog control signal;
- and
- wherein an intensity of one or more LED arrays of the lighting fixture is controlled with the digital control signal.
A lighting fixture, comprising:
- a plurality of LED arrays, wherein each LED array is configured to produce light with a variable intensity;
- and
- means for receiving a control signal indicative of the variable intensity, wherein the means for receiving receives an analog control signal during a first mode of operation and the means for receiving receives a digital control signal during a second mode of operation.
