Enhanced safety tracking in real estate transactions

A computer-implemented method for enhancing safety through a real estate mobile application when visiting real estate listings, comprising:

• provisioning a real estate mobile application with a safety engine on a mobile computing device of a user, wherein the mobile computing device is a GPS enabled smart phone;
• entering parameters into the safety engine by the user or by the real estate mobile application populating the parameters, wherein the parameters comprise the following:
• a safety timer limit, a time extension amount, an emergency contact, a timer authentication code, and an emergency code;
• selecting a property to view on the real estate mobile application by the user, wherein selecting the property includes selecting a time slot to view the property, and an address of the property;
• initiating a GPS module of the safety engine during a period of time when the selected property is to be viewed;
• receiving a check in button click on the real estate mobile application by the user or receiving input from the GPS module that the user has arrived at the property address;
• initiating a timer once the check in button is clicked or when the GPS module identifies the user has arrived at the property;
• prompting from the safety engine on the real estate mobile application a user for the timer authentication code;
• entering by the user an emergency code;
• and
• alerting from the real estate mobile application when the emergency code is entered after prompting.
