Abstract
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods related to a packaging laminate comprising: a first polymeric layer comprising a polypropylene copolymer; and a second polymeric layer comprising a high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin with a coextruded ethyl vinyl alcohol (EVOH) compatibilizer.

A packaging laminate, comprising:
- a first polymeric layer comprising a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin, wherein the first polymeric layer has a first thickness, and
- a second polymeric layer comprising a HDPE resin, ethyl vinyl alcohol (EVOH), and an EVOH compatibilizer, wherein the second polymeric layer has a second thickness,
- wherein the second thickness is about five times greater than the first thickness, and
- wherein the laminate is recyclable to the same extent as #2 HDPE film.

A packaging laminate, comprising:
- a first polymeric layer comprising a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin, and
- a second polymeric layer comprising a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin, about 5 to about 33 percent by weight of a catalyst (based on the weight of the second polymeric layer), ethyl vinyl alcohol (EVOH), and an EVOH compatibilizer, and
- wherein the laminate is recyclable to the same extent as #4 LLDPE film.
A packaging container, comprising:
- a packaging laminate having a total thickness of about 1.65 mils to 8.5 mils, wherein the packaging laminate comprises:
- a first polymeric layer comprising a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin, and
- a second polymeric layer comprising:
- (a) a resin selected from the group consisting of HDPE, LLDPE, and low-density/high-density polyethylene (LD/HDPE), (b) ethyl vinyl alcohol (EVOH), and (c) an EVOH compatibilizer,
- wherein the laminate is recyclable to the same extent as #2 HDPE film or #4 LLDPE film, and
- a degassing valve having a thickness greater than the total thickness of the packaging laminate.
