Abstract
The disclosure presents a composite conduit formwork structure which includes a cylindrical outer casing adapted to bond with a cylindrical inner casing which are maintained at a fixed distance apart by a plurality of radial stanchions. The inner casing and outer casing form an interior void which is filled with concrete during manufacture. The outer casing and inner casing remain in place to protect the structure once completed. A novel method of assembly is also provided whereby radial stanchions are rotated between the outer casing and inner casing. All of the components in a preferred embodiment are formed of a fiberglass material.
Claims22
A composite conduit formwork structure comprising:
- a cylindrical outer casing incorporating an annular internal flange;
- a cylindrical inner casing, bonded to the cylindrical outer casing, incorporating an annular external flange;
- a plurality of radial stanchions, bonded to and separating the cylindrical outer casing and the cylindrical inner casing;
- and,
- wherein the cylindrical outer casing and the cylindrical inner casing form an interior void.
A method of forming a composite conduit formwork structure comprising:
- attaching a plurality radial stanchions to a cylindrical inner casing;
- axially aligning the cylindrical inner casing with a cylindrical outer casing;
- moving the cylindrical outer casing axially with respect to the cylindrical inner casing to form an internal void;
- and,
- attaching the plurality of stanchions to the cylindrical outer casing.
