Abstract
Two rotors with two lobes are eccentrically mounted within the chamber of a two-lobe rotary machine. The rotors have a periphery defined by a the path of the opposing rotor apex.
Claims14
A rotary machine comprising:
- at least two substantially lenticular rotors displaced for eccentric rotation, wherein each of said lenticular rotors is rotatably mounted on an opposing eccentric crank pin and controlled by a rotor positioning mechanism having a central axis therethrough, such that said lenticular rotors have apexes which remain confined within a common defined orbital pattern and said lenticular rotors collectively have a periphery contained within a maximum envelope defined by movement of the apexes of said opposing lenticular rotors.
A rotary machine comprising:
- a chamber having an inner annular wall and seal member extending inward of said inner wall;
- and
- at least one lenticular rotor displaced for eccentric rotation, wherein said at least one lenticular rotor is rotatably mounted on an eccentric crank pin and controlled by a rotor positioning mechanism having a central axis therethrough, such that said at least one lenticular rotor have apexes which remain confined within a common defined orbital pattern and said at least one lenticular rotor have a periphery contained within a maximum envelope defined by movement of the apexes of said at least one lenticular rotor and in which said at least one lenticular rotor slidably moves against said inner wall and said seal member to collectively form a seal, wherein fluid force can be one of captured and compressed to provide a drive output.
