Abstract
Degradable polymers, including polyurethane and polyurethane-urea compositions, that can be used in aqueous, non-aqueous and dry hot environments as degradable polymers in oil, gas and other applications.

A polyurethane-forming composition, comprising:
- a) an isocyanate component,
- b) an isocyanate-reactive component,
- c) a degrading-agent, and
- d) optionally, one or more additives.

- the reaction product of
- i) a modified prepolymer formed of a mixture of a prepolymer and a degrading-agent,
- ii) a chain extender, and
- iii) optionally one or more additives,
- wherein the prepolymer is formed of the reaction of a diisocyanate and a polyol.
