The present invention relates to a liquid-crystalline medium (LC medium), to the use thereof for electro-optical purposes, and to LC displays containing this medium.

Dependent claims

LC medium, characterised in that it has positive dielectric anisotropy and comprises one or more compounds of the formula IA and one or more compounds of the formula IB

in which R1 and R2 in each case, independently of one another, denote alkyl, alkoxy, oxaalkyl or fluoroalkyl, in each case having 1 to 7 C atoms,
and the LC medium comprises no compounds selected from the formulae IA and IB in which the radicals R1 and R2 have the meaning indicated above and in addition one or both radicals R1 or R2 contain a C═C double bond.
