There is provided a machine tool comprising: a moving cover 4 that opens or closes a machining chamber M; a blowout unit including a blowout port 42 that releases gas so as to cover an opening region Op generated when the moving cover 4 is moved from a closed position toward an open position; and a control unit that changes an amount of the gas released from the blowout port 42 according to an opening degree L of the opening region Op.

A machine tool comprising:
- a moving cover that opens or closes a machining chamber;
- a blowout unit including a blowout port that releases gas so as to cover an opening region generated when the moving cover is moved from a closed position toward an open position;
- and
- a control unit that changes an amount of the gas released from the blowout port according to an opening degree of the opening region.
