Method and device for transmitting random access signal, and computer readable medium

A method for 2-step random access (RA) performed by a base station in a communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a terminal, random access channel (RACH) configuration for 4-step RA, RACH configuration for the 2-step RA, and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration, the RACH configuration for the 4-step RA including information on RA occasions for the 4-step RA;
• and
• receiving, from the terminal, a random access preamble in an RA occasion for the 2-step RA and a PUSCH in a PUSCH resource based on whether the random access preamble is mapped to the PUSCH resource,
• wherein, in case that the RA occasions for the 4-step RA are shared with the 2-step RA and an index indicating a subset of the RA occasions for the 4-step RA is configured, the RA occasion for the 2-step RA is based on the subset, and
• wherein the PUSCH resource being not overlapped with the RA occasion for the 2-step RA is based on the PUSCH configuration.

A terminal in a communication system, the terminal comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from a base station, random access channel (RACH) configuration for 4-step random access (RA), RACH configuration for 2-step RA, and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration, the RACH configuration for the 4-step RA including information on RA occasions for the 4-step RA,
• in case that the RA occasions for the 4-step RA are shared with the 2-step RA and an index indicating a subset of the RA occasions for the 4-step RA is configured, identify an RA occasion for the 2-step RA based on the subset,
• identify a PUSCH resource based on the PUSCH configuration, the PUSCH resource being not overlapped with the RA occasion for the 2-step RA, and
• transmit, to the base station, a random access preamble in the RA occasion for the 2-step RA and a PUSCH in the PUSCH resource based on whether the random access preamble is mapped to the PUSCH resource.

A base station in a communication system, the base station comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• transmit, to a terminal, random access channel (RACH) configuration for 4-step random access (RA), RACH configuration for 2-step RA, and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration, the RACH configuration for the 4-step RA including information on RA occasions for the 4-step RA, and
• receive, from the terminal, a random access preamble in an RA occasion for the 2-step RA and a PUSCH in a PUSCH resource based on whether the random access preamble is mapped to the PUSCH resource,
• wherein, in case that the RA occasions for the 4-step RA are shared with the 2-step RA and an index indicating a subset of the RA occasions for the 4-step RA is configured, the RA occasion for the 2-step RA is based on the subset, and
• wherein the PUSCH resource being not overlapped with the RA occasion for the 2-step RA is based on the PUSCH configuration.
