Abstract
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method, device and computer readable medium for paging in new radio systems. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the network device transmits an indication to multiple terminal devices to indicate whether the paging overload occurs on the PO. The terminal device determines whether to continue monitoring the paging message based on the indication. In this way, the power consumption is reduced.

An apparatus, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the at least one processor, the memory storing instructions therein, the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, causing the apparatus to:
- transmit, to a terminal device, configuration information for configuring one or more paging occasions in a discontinuous reception cycle, the one or more paging occasions being used for monitoring paging messages;
- generate an indication indicating whether the terminal device stops monitoring the paging messages during the one or more paging occasions;
- and
- transmit the generated indication to the terminal device.
