Abstract
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide enhancements to enable per transmission reception point (per-TRP or per beam group)-based beam failure recovery, and more particularly, techniques for TRP-specific beam failure recovery request (BFRQ). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes communicating using beams associated with at least two beam groups, each associate with one of the TRPs, detecting a beam failure in a first one of the beam groups, and transmitting an indication of a BFRQ specific to a beam group in which the beam failure was detected.

A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- communicating using beams associated with at least two beam groups;
- and
- transmitting, in uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), an indication of a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a first beam group of the at least two beam groups associated with a beam failure.
A method of wireless communication by a network entity, comprising:
- receiving, from a user equipment (UE), in uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), an indication of a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a beam group in which a beam failure was detected;
- and
- participating in beam failure recovery (BFR) for the UE based on the BFRQ.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a memory having executable instructions stored thereon;
- and
- a processor configured to execute the executable instructions to cause the apparatus to:
- communicate using beams associated with at least two beam groups;
- and
- transmit, in uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), an indication of a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a first beam group of the at least two beam groups in which the beam failure was detected.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a memory having executable instructions stored thereon;
- and
- a processor configured to execute the executable instructions to cause the apparatus to:
- receive, from a user equipment (UE), in uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), an indication of a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a beam group in which a beam failure was detected;
- and
- participate in beam failure recovery (BFR) for the UE based on the BFRQ.
