Peak and gain calibration of a receiver in an isolation product

An isolator product comprising:

• a first integrated circuit die comprising:
• a selectively configurable receiver signal path having a diagnostic mode of operation and a normal mode of operation, the selectively configurable receiver signal path being configured to receive a calibration signal on a differential pair of nodes in response to the isolator product being configured in the diagnostic mode of operation, the selectively configurable receiver signal path having a programmable peaking frequency and a programmable gain configured using a predetermined configuration in response to the isolator product being configured in the normal mode of operation;
• and
• a circuit coupled to the selectively configurable receiver signal path and selectively configured to generate a diagnostic signal having a level corresponding to an average amplitude of a received version of the calibration signal in response to the isolator product being configured in the diagnostic mode of operation, the predetermined configuration being based on the diagnostic signal in response to the isolator product being configured in the diagnostic mode of operation.

A method for calibrating a receiver of an isolator product, the method comprising:

• configuring the isolator product in a diagnostic mode of operation, the configuring comprising:
• configuring a first integrated circuit die of the isolator product to transmit a calibration signal to a second integrated circuit die of the isolator product via the isolation channel of the isolator product, the calibration signal having a first frequency during a first interval and having a second frequency during a second interval, the first interval and the second interval being non-overlapping intervals;
• and
• configuring the second integrated circuit die to generate a first diagnostic code and a second diagnostic code, the first diagnostic code corresponding to the first frequency and the second diagnostic code corresponding to the second frequency.
