Measure factory

A method of projecting a change in a business workflow performance measure, the method comprising:

• detecting an outlier event in the business workflow performance measure, the business workflow performance measure produced by applying at least one of a factory rule or a source rule to data configured in a column of a columnar array, wherein the data configured in the column is sourced from business workflow data corresponding to a business workflow;
• determining a contributing data element used to calculate the business workflow performance measure based on a difference of values of the contributing data element over time;
• identifying a candidate measure for performing a projection based on a contribution of the contributing data element to one or more of a plurality of business workflow performance measures, that includes the business workflow performance measure, wherein the candidate measure reflects at least the business workflow performance measure;
• automatically projecting an outcome for the candidate measure;
• and
• alerting a user of the projected outcome when the projected outcome falls outside a pattern for business workflow performance measures of the business workflow.

A method of projecting a change in a business workflow performance measure, the method comprising:

• detecting an outlier event in the business workflow performance measure produced by applying at least one of a factory rule or a source rule to data configured in a column of a columnar array, wherein the data configured in the column sourced from business workflow data corresponding to a business workflow;
• identifying a candidate measure for performing a projection based on a contribution of the business workflow performance measure to one or more of a plurality of business workflow performance measures produced by applying at least one other factory rule to the business workflow performance measure;
• automatically projecting an outcome for the candidate measure;
• and
• alerting a user of the projected outcome when the projected outcome is outside of a pattern for business workflow performance measures of the business workflow.

A method of projecting an outlier of a set of outcomes produced by a measure factory, the method comprising:

• applying at least one of a factory rule or a source rule to data configured in a column of a columnar array to generate a first outcome, the data configured in the column sourced from a data set for which the source rule applies;
• determining that the first outcome comprises an outlier event;
• monitoring factory rule data usage for a plurality of factory rules, other than the at least one factory rule, for use of at least one data entry from a data set that contributed to the outlier event;
• and
• projecting a second outcome produced by applying at least one of the plurality of factory rules, other than the at least one factory rule, that uses the at least one data entry.
