Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, analyzing media content to recognize an object therein, wherein the media content is provided as a video stream displayed to a user of a communication device, the media content comprising a plurality of digital frames transported to the communication device over a private network; associating product information of a product with the object; receiving a user input selecting the object; determining providers of goods or services of the product, wherein the providers of goods or services are selected during the determining based on a proximity of the providers to the user of the communication device; and providing the product information to the communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- analyzing, by a processing system comprising a processor, closed captioning provided with media content;
- recognizing, by the processing system, product information, the recognizing being based on the analyzing of the closed captioning;
- and
- providing, by the processing system, a connection to a website to a media device, wherein the website is associated with a product that is selected at the media device, the product associated with the product information.
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- analyzing closed captioning provided with media content to recognize an object in the media content;
- associating product information of a product with the object;
- and
- providing the product information to a communication device, the product information comprising a uniform resource locator to a website associated with the product.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- analyzing closed captioning provided with media content to recognize an object in the media content;
- identifying a product from the object;
- and
- providing a link to a website to a communication device, the link enabling the communication device to complete a transaction to procure the product.
