Switching Assembly and Method for Measuring a Position of a Contact Bridge in a Switching Assembly

A method of measuring a position of a contact bridge of a switching assembly having two contacts, comprising:

• switching a controller from a first output signal to a second output signal at a first switching point when the contact bridge moves from a bridging position in which the two contacts are electrically connected, to a separated position in which the two contacts are electrically isolated;
• and
• switching the controller from the second output signal to the first output signal at a second switching point, distinct from the first switching point, when the contact bridge moves from the separated position to the bridging position, at least one of the switching points being associated with a position of the contact bridge between the bridging position and the separated position.
