Abstract
A firearm with an optical safety marking provided on the firearm for clearly indicating the safety state of the firearm. In order to increase the safety of the firearm, it is proposed for the safety marking to be embodied as phosphorescent and/or fluorescent and/or radioluminescent and/or bioluminescent.

A firearm comprising:
- an optically perceptible safety marking provided on the firearm for clearly indicating a safety state of the firearm, wherein the safety marking is selected from the group consisting of:
- phosphorescent, fluorescent, radioluminescent, bioluminescent, electroluminescent, and combinations thereof.
