The invention relates to saRNA targeting an HNF4a transcript and therapeutic compositions comprising said saRNA. Methods of using the therapeutic compositions are also provided.

A method of up-regulating HNF4a gene in a cell comprising administering a synthetic isolated saRNA to the cell, wherein the saRNA is at least 80% complement to a region on SEQ ID No. 1, and wherein the saRNA has 14-30 nucleotides.
