Abstract
A method of in-situ treatment of a body of water comprising at least one contaminant includes adding a blended water treatment substance to the body of water. The blended water treatment substance includes at least one geopolymer and at least one cationic biopolymer. The at least one contaminant is adsorbed from the contaminated water onto the geopolymer. The at least one geopolymer upon which the at least one contaminant is adsorbed is coagulated with the at least one cationic biopolymer. The coagulated at least one geopolymer, at least one biopolymer, and at least one contaminant is precipitated to settle within the water body.

A method of in-situ treatment of a body of water comprising at least one contaminant, the method comprising:
- adding a blended water treatment substance to the body of water in-situ, the blended water treatment substance comprising at least one geopolymer and at least one cationic biopolymer;
- adsorbing the at least one contaminant from the contaminated water onto the geopolymer;
- coagulating the at least one geopolymer upon which the at least one contaminant is adsorbed with the at least one cationic biopolymer;
- and
- precipitating the coagulated at least one geopolymer, at least one biopolymer, and at least one contaminant to settle within the water body.
