Abstract
A system and method are provided in at least one embodiment to process water to produce gas that can be separated into at least two gas flows using a water treatment system having a disk-pack rotating in it to cause out gassing from the water. In a further embodiment, the method and system use the gas released from the water to produce substantially fresh water from the processed salt water.

A disk-pack turbine comprising:
- two disks each having a waveform surface with a plurality of waveform rings centered about an axial center of said disk-pack turbine and a plurality of vanes around an exterior of said disk and outside of said waveform rings, said waveform surfaces face each other,
- one disk includes a plurality of recesses each configured to receive a respective vertical member of said other disk, said vertical members define convergent and divergent channels extending away from said axial center.
A disk-pack turbine comprising:
- two exterior disks each having a waveform surface with a plurality of waveform rings centered about an axial center of said disk-pack turbine and a plurality of vanes around an exterior of said disk, one exterior disk includes a plurality of recesses and the other disk includes a plurality of vertical members;
- at least one middle disk having two waveform surfaces each with a plurality of waveform rings centered about an axial center of said disk-pack turbine and a plurality of vanes around an exterior of said disk, one waveform surface includes a plurality of vertical members and the other waveform surface includes a plurality of recesses, and
- wherein said at least one middle disk is stacked between said exterior disks such that the one waveform surface faces towards one exterior disk and the other waveform surface of the middle disk faces towards the other exterior disk,
- each recess of said plurality of recesses engages one respective vertical member of said plurality of vertical members of the neighboring waveform surface, said vertical members define convergent and divergent channels extending away from said axial center.

A disk-pack turbine comprising:
- two exterior disks each having a waveform surface with a plurality of waveform rings centered about an axial center of said disk-pack turbine and a plurality of vanes around an exterior of said disk, each exterior disk includes a plurality of recesses or vertical members;
- at least one middle disk having two waveform surfaces each with a plurality of waveform rings centered about an axial center of said disk-pack turbine and a plurality of vanes around an exterior of said disk, one waveform surface includes a plurality of recesses or vertical members and the other waveform surface includes a plurality of recesses or vertical members, and
- wherein said at least one middle disk is stacked between said exterior disks such that the one waveform surface faces towards one exterior disk and the other waveform surface of the middle disk faces towards the other exterior disk,
- in each pair of neighboring waveform surfaces, one waveform surface includes said plurality of recesses and the other waveform surface of said pair includes said plurality of vertical members such that each recess of said plurality of recesses engages one respective vertical member of said plurality of vertical members of the neighboring waveform surface, said vertical members define convergent and divergent channels extending away from said axial center.
