Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed to determine one or more sensing zones on a body surface for electrocardiographic mapping of a region of interest associated with the heart. The sensing zone can be utilized to facilitate acquisition, processing and mapping of electrical activity for the corresponding region of interest. In other examples, an application-specific arrangement of electrodes can also be provided based on the sensing zone that is determined for the region of interest.
Claims21
A method comprising:
- accessing, by a computing device comprising a processor, data representing electrical activity measured by a set of electrodes arranged on an outer surface of a patient's body within a sensing zone on the outer surface of the patient's body, the sensing zone on the outer surface of the patient's body including a portion of the outer surface of the patient's body having a spatial distribution of electrodes at respective locations that have been previously spatially correlated with and configured to provide electrical information that is representative of electrical activity for a predetermined region of interest of the patient's heart that is less than the entire heart;
- and
- determining, by the computing device, an estimate of electrical activity for the predetermined region of interest of the patient's heart based on the electrical activity measured by the set of electrodes arranged on the outer surface of the patient's body within the sensing zone.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having instructions stored thereon, the instructions being executable by a processor to perform a method comprising:
- determining a contribution that each of a plurality of electrodes on an outer surface of the patient's body have on mapping electrical activity, which is measured by each of the electrodes on the outer surface of the patient's body, to respective nodes distributed across a cardiac envelope of a patient's heart;
- and
- identifying at least one low resolution anatomical spatial region on the patient's heart based on the determined contribution of the electrodes.
