Abstract
Disclosed herein are material composition formulated for mitigating activity of a virus on a surface of an article. Methods of preparing such a material composition are also disclosed.
Claims34
An article of manufacture, comprising:
- a substrate having a surface subject to contamination by a biological contaminant having an infective capability;
- and
- a layer of an anti-contaminant functionalized coating composition on at least a portion of the surface of the substrate thereby providing the substrate with an anti-contaminant functionalized surface, wherein the anti-contaminant functionalized coating composition comprises an anti-contaminant additive combined with a coating composition in respective amounts for enabling the anti-contaminant functionalized surface to inhibit the infective capability of at least a portion of the biological contaminant brought into contact therewith, wherein the anti-contaminant additive comprises antimicrobial peptide and lipolytic enzyme and wherein the antimicrobial peptide comprises SEQ ID NO. 40.
