Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image forming portion configured to form an image on a recording material;
• a frame, which is a part of a main assembly frame configured to support said image forming portion, extending along a predetermined plane;
• a cover provided outside of said frame and extending along the predetermined plane;
• and
• a circuit board, provided between said frame and said cover with respect to a direction perpendicular to the predetermined plane and extending along the predetermined plane, configured to control said image forming portion, said circuit board including an opening portion penetrating said circuit board,
• wherein said frame includes a first abutting portion protruding toward said circuit board and said cover includes a second abutting portion protruding toward said circuit board, and
• wherein said first abutting portion and said second abutting portion are opposite to each other via said circuit board and positioned in an area where said opening portion of said circuit board is sandwiched therebetween with respect to the direction perpendicular to the predetermined plane.
