Abstract
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for reducing network bandwidth usage by a fleet of robots. According to at least one non-limiting exemplary embodiment, robots coupled to a server collect and produce a substantial amount of data, only a portion of that data being useful for operators to monitor behavior of the robot. The present disclosure provides for, inter alia, optimized systems, apparatuses, and methods for operators to extract the useful data using only reduced bandwidth of cellular LTE networks or Wi-Fi networks.
Claims18
A robotic system, comprising:
- a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising a plurality of computer readable instructions stored thereon;
- and
- at least one controller configured to execute the computer readable instructions to:
- issue first communications to a server, the first communications comprising metadata associated with binary data generated by the at least one controller and sensors coupled to the robotic system;
- issue second communications to a server, the second communications comprising the at least one controller requesting if any binary data is to be uploaded to the server;
- and
- issue third communications to the server, the third communications comprising a bundle of information, the bundle of information corresponds to binary data requested by the server in response to the server receiving the second communications.
A system, comprising:
- a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising a plurality of computer readable instructions stored thereon;
- and
- at least one processor configured to execute the computer readable instructions to:
- receive first communications from one or more robots, the first communications comprising metadata associated with binary data generated by the one or more robots;
- receive a query from a device coupled to the at least one processor, the query corresponding to a request for the binary data collected by at least one robot of the one or more robots;
- transmit a signal to the at least one robot, the signal corresponding to a request for the binary data;
- and
- receive the binary data from the at least one robot in response to the transmitted signal.
A method for operating a robot, comprising:
- issuing, via at least one controller of the robot, first communications to a server, the first communications comprising metadata associated with binary data generated by the at least one controller and sensors coupled to the robot;
- issuing, via the at least one controller of the robot, second communications to the server, the second communications comprising the at least one controller requesting if the binary data is to be uploaded to the server;
- and
- issuing third communications to the server, the third communications comprising a bundle of information, the bundle of information corresponds to the binary data requested by the server in response to the server receiving the second communications.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising a plurality of computer readable instructions embodied thereon which, when executed by at least one controller of a robot, cause the at least one controller to:
- issue first communications to a server, the first communications comprising metadata associated with binary data generated by the at least one controller and sensors coupled to the robot;
- issue second communications to the server, the second communications comprising the at least one controller requesting if the binary data is to be uploaded to the server;
- issue third communications to the server, the third communications comprising a bundle of information, the bundle of information corresponds to binary data requested by the server in response to the server receiving the second communications;
- wherein,
- the server requests the binary data in response to a query input by an operator of the robot;
- the first, second and third communications are effectuated using cellular LTE networks or Wi-Fi networks;
- the bundle of information communicated via the third communications comprises one or more of data from the sensor coupled to the robot, a computer readable map produced by the at least one controller, or actuator commands issued;
- the bundle of information comprises the binary data generated about a time window about an assist event;
- and
- the first communications further comprises summary information corresponding to performance summaries of the robot.
