Abstract
A system for performing assurance of at least one network element in a network, the system comprising: at least one pacemaker, wherein the at least one pacemaker is a virtual machine in communication with a path to the at least one network element in the network, the at least one pacemaker configured to selectively provide an atomic workload to the path; a configuration analysis microservice in communication with the at least one pacemaker, the configuration analysis microservice is configured to provide a policy to the at least one pacemaker for application of the atomic workload and monitor a pulse from the atomic workload on the path.

A system comprising:
- a pacemaker that is a virtual machine in communication with a path to a network element in a network, the pacemaker configured to selectively provide an atomic workload to the path at a selected probing frequency, wherein the atomic workload is selected from a plurality of atomic workloads dependent on the path to be tested;
- and
- a configuration analysis microservice in communication with the pacemaker, the configuration analysis microservice is configured to provide a policy to the pacemaker for application of the atomic workload and monitor a pulse from the atomic workload on the path, wherein the pacemaker adjusts the atomic workload based on pulse measurements on the path and wherein the probing frequency is adjusted based on determining operation is within specifications.
A network device comprising:
- a processor, an input/output device coupled to the processor, and a memory coupled with the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- launching a pacemaker in a data plane;
- selectively applying an atomic workload, via the pacemaker, to a path, wherein the atomic workload is selected from a plurality of atomic workloads dependent on the path to be tested;
- analyzing a pulse from the atomic workload on the path via a configuration analysis microservice;
- adjusting the atomic workload based on analyzing the pulse on the path;
- and
- setting a probing frequency, wherein the probing frequency is adjusted based on determining operation is within specifications.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing executable instructions that when executed by a computing device cause said computing device to effectuate operations comprising:
- launching a pacemaker in a data plane;
- selectively applying an atomic workload, via the pacemaker, to a path, wherein the atomic workload is selected from a plurality of atomic workloads dependent on the path to be tested;
- analyzing a pulse from the atomic workload on the path via a configuration analysis microservice;
- adjusting the atomic workload based on analyzing the pulse on the path;
- and
- setting a probing frequency, wherein the probing frequency is adjusted based on determining operation is within specifications.
