A photoelectric conversion device comprising:
- a first carrier transport layer;
- a photoelectric conversion layer containing an ionic crystalline compound;
- and
- a polysiloxane layer between the first carrier transport layer and the photoelectric conversion layer, the polysiloxane layer containing a polysiloxane having a polar functional group.

A method of manufacturing a photoelectric conversion device, the method comprising:
- applying a solution containing a polysiloxane having a polar functional group onto a first carrier transport layer to form a polysiloxane layer;
- and
- applying a highly polar solvent containing a precursor to an ionic crystalline compound onto the polysiloxane layer to form a photoelectric conversion layer.
