Abstract
A remote patient monitoring system and method collects patient healthcare information to create a digital healthcare representation. The remote patient monitoring system communicatively couples various medical devices through a remote healthcare gateway (RHG) to a cloud-base management server, so that the output of those medical devices may be integrated into the digital healthcare representation in real-time. A subset of the digital healthcare representation is used to generate a replicate model which is communicatively coupled to a third party cloud component.
Claims20
A system for remotely monitoring patients, the system comprising:
- a remote healthcare gateway (RHG) mobile application executed on a mobile device, in which the RHG mobile application is communicatively coupled to a remote healthcare cloud component over a wide area network (WAN) and the mobile device associated with a patient;
- a medical device communicatively coupled to the RHG mobile application over a local area network (LAN), wherein the medical device includes at least one of a thermometer, a sphygmomanometer, an electrocardiogram machine, a pulse oximeter, a weight scale, an ultrasound machine, a glucose monitor, a skin analysis machine, a stethoscope, an autoscope, an orthopedic corrective therapy device, and a wellness monitoring wearable;
- a database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component, in which the database receives a biometric data input from the medical device;
- the database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component receives a plurality of patient healthcare data items including at least one of provider health records, an electronic health record, a genomic data, an exomic data, a medical device readings, a medical device report, a list of patient allergies, an inventory of patient medications, a pharmacy number, a prescriber, a strength, a dosage, a purpose, a side effect, a drug-drug interaction, an indication to alert clinicians to reactions, a quantity remaining, a timing for refills, and a questionnaire response;
- a digital healthcare representation associated with the patient, wherein the digital healthcare representation includes the plurality of patient healthcare data items including the biometric data input from the medical device and the digital healthcare representation is stored on at least one of the RHG mobile application and the remote healthcare cloud component;
- and
- a replicate model of the digital healthcare representation presented to a third-party cloud component by the RHG over the WAN, wherein the replicate model includes a subset of data items associated with the digital healthcare representation;
- wherein the remote healthcare cloud component generates a plurality of patient tasks based upon the digital healthcare representation that are communicated to the RHG mobile application.
A system for remotely monitoring patients, the system comprising:
- a remote healthcare gateway (RHG) application executed on a computing device, wherein the RHG application is communicatively coupled to a remote healthcare cloud component, wherein the computing device is associated with a patient;
- a medical device communicatively coupled to the RHG application, wherein the medical device includes at least one of a thermometer, a sphygmomanometer, an electrocardiogram machine, a pulse oximeter, a weight scale, an ultrasound machine, a glucose monitor, a skin analysis machine, a stethoscope, an autoscope, an orthopedic corrective therapy device, and a wellness monitoring wearable;
- a database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component, in which the database receives a biometric data input from the medical device;
- the database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component receives a plurality of patient healthcare data items including at least one of provider health records, an electronic health record, a genomic data, an exomic data, a medical device readings, a medical device report, a list of patient allergies, an inventory of patient medications, a pharmacy number, a prescriber, a strength, a dosage, a purpose, a side effect, a drug-drug interaction, an indication to alert clinicians to reactions, a quantity remaining, a timing for refills, and a questionnaire response;
- a digital healthcare representation associated with the patient, wherein the digital healthcare representation includes a plurality of data items including the biometric data input from the medical device and at least one patient healthcare data item, wherein the digital healthcare representation stored on at least one of the RHG application and the remote healthcare cloud component;
- and
- wherein the remote healthcare cloud component generates a plurality of patient tasks based upon the digital healthcare representation that are communicated to the RHG application.
A method for remotely monitoring patients, the method comprising:
- executing, by a mobile device, a remote healthcare gateway (RHG) mobile application;
- communicatively coupling, over a wide area network (WAN), the RHG mobile application to a remote healthcare cloud component;
- communicatively coupling, over a local area network (LAN), the RHG mobile application to a medical device, wherein the medical device includes at least one of a thermometer, a sphygmomanometer, an electrocardiogram machine, a pulse oximeter, a weight scale, an ultrasound machine, a glucose monitor, a skin analysis machine, a stethoscope, an autoscope, an orthopedic corrective therapy device, and a wellness monitoring wearable;
- communicatively coupling, over the WAN, the remote healthcare cloud component to a healthcare organization cloud component;
- receiving, by a database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component, biometric data input from the medical device;
- receiving, by the database associated with the remote healthcare cloud component, patient healthcare data items from the healthcare organization cloud component, wherein the patient healthcare data items includes at least one of provider health records, an electronic health record, a genomic data, an exomic data, a medical device reading, a medical device report, a list of patient allergies, an inventory of patient medications, a pharmacy number, a prescriber, a strength, a dosage, a purpose, a side effects, a drug-drug interactions, an indication to alert clinicians to reactions, a quantity remaining, a timing for refills, and a questionnaire responses;
- generating, by at least one of the RHG mobile application and the remote healthcare cloud component, a digital healthcare representation for a patient associated with the mobile device, the digital healthcare representation including a plurality of data items including the biometric data input from the medical device and at least one patient healthcare data item;
