Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to a system that utilizes a mobile device to facilitate the transfer of funds between a gaming establishment retail account and a cashless wagering account, and further between the cashless wagering account and an electronic gaming machine.

A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- maintain, in association with a gaming establishment account, a balance of funds having a first attribute, wherein any funds having the first attribute are withdrawable from the gaming establishment account for a corresponding amount of currency, and
- responsive to an approved request to transfer funds from the gaming establishment account to a retail account, modify, in association with the retail account, a balance of funds having a second, different attribute, wherein any funds having the second, different attribute are not withdrawable from the retail account for a corresponding amount of currency.

A method of operating a system, the method comprising:
- maintaining, by a processor and in association with a gaming establishment account, a balance of funds having a first attribute, wherein any funds having the first attribute are withdrawable from the gaming establishment account for a corresponding amount of currency, and
- responsive to an approved request to transfer funds from the gaming establishment account to a retail account, modifying, by the processor and in association with the retail account, a balance of funds having a second, different attribute, wherein any funds having the second, different attribute are not withdrawable from the retail account for a corresponding amount of currency.
