Simulating containerized clusters

A system comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processing device communicably coupled to the memory, the processing device to:
• determine a first value of an entity property that characterizes a simulated cluster entity in a simulated containerized cluster, wherein the first value of the entity property is determined in view of an entity specification associated with the simulated cluster entity;
• identify one or more simulation policies that correspond to the simulated cluster entity, the simulation policies comprising a value generation policy that specifies a modification factor, the entity property, and one or more entity modification criteria;
• responsive to determining that the one or more entity modification criteria are satisfied, determine a second value of the entity property in view of the first value of the entity property and the modification factor;
• and
• generate simulation output comprising the second value of the entity property.

A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processor to perform operations comprising:

• determining a first value of an entity property that characterizes a simulated cluster entity in a simulated containerized cluster, wherein the first value of the entity property is determined in view of an entity specification associated with the simulated cluster entity;
• identifying one or more simulation policies that correspond to the simulated cluster entity, the simulation policies comprising a value generation policy that specifies a modification factor, the entity property, and one or more entity modification criteria;
• responsive to determining that the one or more entity modification criteria are satisfied, determining a second value of the entity property in view of the first value of the entity property and the modification factor;
• and
• generating simulation output comprising the second value of the entity property.
