Abstract
There is described a building automation system comprising a mobile tag, sensor devices, and a sensor hub. The mobile tag transmits a broadcast beacon based on RF technology. The sensor devices are co-located with light fixtures and include antennas for receiving a broadcast beacon. The sensor devices generate signals associated with the broadcast beacon received by the antennas. The sensor hub receives the signals from each sensor device and determines a location of the mobile tag based on the signals.
Claims20
A light fixture comprising:
- a light fixture housing;
- a lamp supported by the light fixture housing, the lamp having an elongated structure and including a plurality of semiconductor light sources;
- a plurality of antennas supported by the light fixture housing, a first antenna of the plurality of antennas being directed toward a first end of the light fixture housing and a second antenna of the plurality of antennas being directed toward a second end of the light fixture housing;
- and
- a sensor component coupled to the plurality of antennas, the sensor component processing RF signals received from a remote device by the plurality of antennas.
A building automation system comprising:
- a mobile tag configured to transmit a broadcast beacon based on RF technology;
- a plurality of sensor devices co-located with a plurality of light fixtures, each sensor device including a plurality of antennas for receiving the broadcast beacon and generating at least one signal associated with the broadcast beacon received by the plurality of antennas;
- and
- a sensor hub configured to receive the at least one signal from each sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices and determine a location of the mobile tag based on the at least one signal.
A method of a building automation system comprising:
- transmitting a broadcast beacon based on RF technology from a mobile tag;
- receiving the broadcast beacon at a plurality of antennas of each sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices, the plurality of sensor devices being co-located with a plurality of light fixtures;
- generating, at each sensor device, at least one signal associated with the broadcast beacon received at the plurality of antennas;
- and
- receiving, at a sensor hub, the at least one signal from each sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices;
- and
- determining, at the sensor hub, a location of the mobile tag based on the at least one signal.
