Measurement Reporting for Bistatic and Multi-static Radar in Cellular Systems

A method for radar sensing comprising:

• receiving, from a radar server, one or more parameters for configuring a first wireless communications system Transmission Reception Point (TRP) as a transmitter for sending a transmit signal and configuring a second wireless communications system TRP as a receiver for receiving an echo signal corresponding to a reflection of the transmit signal from a target;
• and
• providing, from the second wireless communications system TRP, one or more measurement reports containing one or more of delay, Doppler frequency, and/or angle-of-arrival information based on reception of the echo signal at the second wireless communications system TRP,
• wherein the first wireless communications system TRP and the second wireless communications system TRP are part of a cellular communications system.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions therein for execution by one or more processing units, comprising instructions to:

• provide, from a radar server, one or more parameters for configuring a first wireless communications system Transmission Reception Point (TRP) as a transmitter for sending a transmit signal and configuring a second wireless communications system TRP as a receiver for receiving an echo signal corresponding to a reflection of the transmit signal from a target;
• and
• receive, at the radar server from the second wireless communications system TRP, one or more measurement reports containing one or more of delay, Doppler frequency, and/or angle-of-arrival information based on reception of the echo signal at the second wireless communications system TRP,
• wherein the first wireless communications system TRP and the second wireless communications system TRP are part of a cellular communications system.
