Abstract
A heat flow rate measurement method for use with a differential scanning calorimeter sensor is provided. The method includes calculating a heat exchange between a plurality of sample containers and a reference container placed on a plurality of sample calorimeter units and a reference calorimeter unit, respectively, and determining a heat flow rate of samples within the sample containers using the calculated heat exchange between the plurality of sample containers and the reference container. A multiple sample differential scanning calorimeter sensor and calorimeter system are also provided.
Claims15
A heat flow rate measurement method for use with a differential scanning calorimeter sensor, the method comprising:
- calculating a heat exchange between a plurality of sample containers and a reference container placed on a plurality of sample calorimeter units and a reference calorimeter unit, respectively;
- and
- determining a heat flow rate of samples within the sample containers using the calculated heat exchange between the plurality of sample containers and the reference container.
A multiple sample differential scanning calorimeter sensor, comprising:
- a first sample calorimeter unit attached to a base and configured to receive a first sample container;
- a second sample calorimeter unit attached to the base and configured to receive a second sample container;
- a third sample calorimeter unit attached to the base and configured to receive a third sample container, wherein a distance between the first sample container on the first sample calorimeter unit and the second sample container on the second sample calorimeter unit is greater than a distance between the first sample container and the third sample container on the third sample calorimeter unit;
- and
- a reference calorimeter unit attached to the base and configured to receive a reference container;
- wherein heat exchanged between the first sample container, the second sample container, the third sample container, and the reference container is measured as a function of determining a heat flow measurement of heat flowing to and from a sample in the first sample container.
