Abstract
This invention provides vaccines for inducing an immune response and protection against filovirus infection for use as a preventative vaccine in humans. In particular, the invention provides chimpanzee adenoviral vectors expressing filovirus proteins from different strains of Ebolavirus (EBOV) or Marburg virus (MARV).
Claims18
A method of inducing a protective immune response against an Ebola virus infection in a subject, the method comprising intramuscularly administering to the subject an effective amount of viral particles of a recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus type 3 (ChAd3) vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding an Ebola virus glycoprotein.
A method of inducing a protective immune response against a Marburg virus infection in a subject, the method comprising intramuscularly administering to the subject an effective amount of viral particles of a recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus type 3 (ChAd3) vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding a Marburg virus glycoprotein.
An isolated nucleic acid molecule, wherein the isolated nucleic acid molecule comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:8, and SEQ ID NO:9.
