Abstract
The invention relates to compositions, methods of manufacture, and methods for reducing metal corrosion during alkaline cleaning. In particular, the method employs an alkylamino hydroxy acid, secondary amine, or combination thereof in alkaline cleaning of hard surfaces.
Claims15
A hard surface cleaning composition comprising:
- between about 35 wt. % and about 99 wt. % (active) of an alkalinity source, wherein the alkalinity source comprises an alkali metal hydroxide;
- between about 0.01 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of an alkylamino hydroxy acid, wherein the alkylamino hydroxy acid comprises one or more 3-alkylamino-2-hydroxysuccinic acid compounds and/or salts thereof;
- wherein the composition provides a pH of at least about 11 upon dilution.
