Abstract
The present application relates to methods of preventing, treating or managing a respiratory disease and/or a viral infection (e.g., an influenza virus infection and COVID-19) using a pharmaceutical composition produced from one or more preparations of plant parts. Provided herein are the pharmaceutical compositions produced from the one or more preparations. Also provided herein are methods of producing the pharmaceutical composition from the one or more preparations.
Claims27
A method of preventing, treating or managing a respiratory disease and/or a viral infection, comprising administering to a subject in need of such prevention, treatment, or management a pharmaceutical composition produced from one or more preparations comprising
- (i) a preparation of the grassy stem of Ephedra sinica Stapf;
- (ii) Gypsum ore (CaSO4.2H2O);
- (iii) a preparation of the seed (nut) of Semen Armeniacae Amarum;
- and/or
- (iv) a preparation of the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., and
- wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

A pharmaceutical composition produced from preparations comprising:
- (i) a preparation of the grassy stem of Ephedra sinica Stapf;
- (ii) Gypsum ore (CaSO4.2H2O);
- (iii) a preparation of the seed (nut) of Semen Armeniacae Amarum;
- and/or
- (iv) a preparation of the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., and
- wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

A method of producing a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the method comprises the steps of:
- (a) boiling preparations in water;
- and
- (b) collecting the decoction,
- wherein the preparations comprise:
- (i) a preparation of the grassy stem of Ephedra sinica Stapf;
- (ii) Gypsum ore (CaSO4.2H2O);
- (iii) a preparation of the seed (nut) of Semen Armeniacae Amarum;
- and/or
- (iv) a preparation of the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., and
- wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
