Abstract
The invention provides methods and compositions for treating cancer by administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of 6,8-bis-benzylthio-octanoic acid and an autophagy inhibitor.

A method for treating cancer in a human patient in need thereof, comprising the step of administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of 6,8-bis-benzylthio-octanoic acid and an autophagy inhibitor.
The method of any preceding claim, wherein the autophagy inhibitor is a 4-aminoquinoline.
