Abstract
An apparatus for assessing a patient-s vasculature is provided which is adapted to derive a physiological model of the vasculature including a geometric model and a fluid dynamics model of a vessel of interest and a dynamics measure indicative of a contrast agent dynamics through the vasculature from a plurality of diagnostic images and to analyze the at least one dynamics measure as the function of time such as to adjust at least one boundary condition of the fluid dynamics model.
Claims15
An apparatus for assessing a patient's vasculature, comprising:
- a processing unit adapted to
- derive, from at least one diagnostic image of the vasculature, a physiological model of the vasculature, the physiological model comprising a two-dimensional geometric model of a vessel of interest and a fluid dynamics model representing the fluid dynamics through the vessel of interest;
- derive, from a time series of diagnostic images of the vasculature, at least one dynamics measure indicative of a contrast agent dynamic through the vasculature as a function of time;
- analyze the at least one dynamics measure as the function of time, and
- adjust at least one boundary condition of the fluid dynamics model based on the analyzing of the at least one dynamics measure.
A method for assessing a patient's vasculature, comprising the steps of:
- deriving, from at least one diagnostic image of the vasculature, a physiological model of the vasculature, the physiological model comprising a two-dimensional geometric model of a vessel of interest and a fluid dynamics model representing the fluid dynamics through the vessel of interest;
- deriving, from a time series of diagnostic images of the vasculature, at least one dynamics measure indicative of a contrast agent dynamic through the vasculature as a function of time;
- analyzing the at least one dynamics measure as the function of time;
- and
- adjusting at least one boundary condition of the fluid dynamics model based on the analyzing of the at least one dynamics measure.
