Abstract
A method, apparatus, and computer program for controlling allocation of control message fields in uplink transmission in a cellular telecommunication system are presented. Uplink control message fields are allocated to the resources of a physical uplink shared traffic channel according to an uplink transmission scheme selected for a user terminal. The control message fields are allocated so that transmission performance of the control messages is optimized for the selected uplink transmission scheme.
Claims18
A method performed by a base station, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a user terminal, first coded control information via a first spatial stream and concurrently receiving second coded control information via a second spatial stream, wherein the first and second spatial streams are multiple input multiple output (MIMO) spatial streams that were transmitted via respective different antennas, and further wherein the first spatial stream and the second spatial stream use single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA);
- despreading the first coded control information with a first spreading code and despreading the second coded control information with a second spreading code to generate control information, wherein the first spreading code is different than the second spreading code, and wherein the control information is acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) information or rank indicator information.
A base station comprising:
- a receiver configured to:
- receive, from a user terminal, first coded control information via a first spatial stream and concurrently receiving second coded control information via a second spatial stream, wherein the first and second spatial streams are multiple input multiple output (MIMO) spatial streams that were transmitted via respective different antennas, and further wherein the first spatial stream and the second spatial stream use single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA);
- and
- a processor configured to despread the first coded control information with a first spreading code and despread the second coded control information with a second spreading code to generate control information, wherein the first spreading code is different than the second spreading code, and wherein the control information is acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) information or rank indicator information.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium including instructions thereon that, when executed by at least one processor, cause an apparatus to:
- receive, from a user terminal, first coded control information via a first spatial stream and concurrently receiving second coded control information via a second spatial stream, wherein the first and second spatial streams are multiple input multiple output (MIMO) spatial streams that were transmitted via respective different antennas, and further wherein the first spatial stream and the second spatial stream use single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA);
- and
- despread the first coded control information with a first spreading code and despread the second coded control information with a second spreading code to generate control information, wherein the first spreading code is different than the second spreading code, and wherein the control information is acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) information or rank indicator information.
